Securiguard Service Limited Is looking to add a Director, People Operations to their leadership team. This position requires someone hands-on who provides guidance, direction and support on all matters related to Human Resources policies and procedures and best practices. The position is titled People Operations to illustrate the importance of the HR function from a talent-first perspective. The Director, People Operations will make sure that Securiguard employees have a positive employee experience aligned with core values and all the tools they need to be successful and develop during their time with the company.

Job Description

Reporting to the VP, Strategic Planning, the Director, People Operations plays a key role in supporting Securiguard's business leaders to deliver on their people strategies in a complex and stimulating environment. This position will oversee: Performance Management, Legal and Compliance, Employee & Labour Relations, Employee Engagement & Retention, Rewards & Recognition, Respectful Workplace & Diversity, and Organizational Development & Training.


  • Lead by example by living company's core values and culture in day-to-day behaviors and interactions with all levels of colleagues
  • Use KPI's, benchmarking, and other assessment tools to analyze skill gaps, allowing the company to proactively manage performance management issues as well as develop and invest in employees long term
  • Implement new and/or enhance existing staff recognition and rewards programs
  • Develop comprehensive onboarding, training and retention plans to meet the needs of the company
  • Provide advice and direction in all areas contributing to employee relations, labour relations and team member engagement
  • Create and implement a L&D plan, and build out internal communications strategies and initiatives that help cultivate a culture of learning
  • Develop and implement compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective
  • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively support Securiguard's strategic vision
  • Review, develop, monitor, implement and improve internal human resources processes and systems to support departments and their operations
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive and senior management team
  • Assist with the development and delivery of various training programs
  • Actively seek out or respond to requests for technology that free up time from repetitive work so employees can concentrate on more important, high-value tasks
  • Use data to identify problems and adopt corrective and preventative protocols
  • Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends and provide cutting-edge recommendations to management

Required skills

  • Organic ability to demonstrate company's core values and lead by example
  • Minimum 4 years' generalist experience, leading the HR function
  • Human Resources degree or equivalent required
  • Exposure to high level HR and strategic planning
  • Previous management/leadership experience required
  • Must have demonstrated deep and broad proficiency with applicable labour laws/regulations and management theories, including policy/procedure development
  • Experience with unionized environment and a focus on labour relations is an asset
  • Ability to lead meetings and presentations, and ability to interface with all levels of staff with tact and diplomacy is a must
  • Familiarity with LMS and HRIS


  • Experience in Security industry
  • Experience developing and/or overseeing a comprehensive eLearning Program
