Securiguard has a permanent full time opportunity for an Access Control Office (ACO) Supervisor located at Vancouver International Airport to manage a team of ten employees.

This position will suit someone with between two-five years management experience who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively mediate and intervene in workplace, client and staff issues. 

The ideal candidate will have a Transport Canada Security clearance (RAIC) or fit the government requirements to apply for one.

Job Description

The ACO Supervisor oversees the planning, management and coordination of access control related operations; holds responsibility on the issuance of the RAIC, block passes and access card, inventory control, database management, electronic products system management, supervision, client management, and the overall management of the Airport access and key control program. 

The supervisory personnel are competent, fully trained and have an intimate knowledge of the various tasks, equipment, supplies and materials required to assure our employees perform to the highest level.

The Supervisor will report directly to the Manager of Security Programs. They will be responsible for daily supervision of all ACO/AVOP resources on shift including, ensuring that proper staffing levels are maintained each shift, to coach and train security personal, to assess their performance and enforce discipline.

The ACO supervisor is the professional authority regarding matters of Transportation Security Clearance and will be an advisor to the AVSEC.

Job Duties

Job duties may include, but are not restricted to:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the Standard Operating Procedure
  • for Access Control Office.
  • Coaching and guidance through Corrective Action Reporting and
  • take necessary action to correct identified performance and/or
  • training deficiencies.
  • Proactively monitoring adherence to Airport Authority programs and
  • policies, and reporting as requested;
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Transport Canada, CATSA
  • Maintain a professional, quality work environment at all times
  • Develop tools and documents to generate Security Month End
  • Reports
  • Generate new strategies and plans for improving employee training
  • documents
  • Liaison with the Airport Authority AVSEC Department to develop
  • policies and procedures
  • Implement and establish training programs related to security and
  • contract requirements
  • Implement security / safety improvements that benefit the company's
  • assets, clients and employees as directed.
  • Participate in ACO/AVOP related meetings on an adhoc basis.
  • Familiar with local, state and federal Aerodrome Security rules and
  • regulations including Canadian Aviation Security Regulation, 2012.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with tenants, contractors,
  • local law enforcement, community and groups or associations that
  • benefit the company and operations.
  • Communicate incidents and issues to the day of operations staff in
  • timely manner
  • Develop and maintain cost saving designs for ACO operations.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • RAIC
  • Valid Security license.
  • Aviation Security Training
  • Excellent computer skills with an understanding of a variety of programs
  • (I.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, and other work-related software).
  • Ability to type quickly and accurately (up to 40 wpm).
  • Training and Coaching skills.
  • Investigation skills and reports writing.
